12 Tags of 2013- September

Hello everyone!! I finally got around to uploading my next tag of the month! mine has been finished for awhile and I'm super excited to finally get around to showing everyone:) My inspiration for this tag was obviously Tim's beautiful tag, but I also got a new stamp set, and I wanted to use them:) as always.. I'm a very happy girl when I get to use a bunch of bright colors:) I love making tags rainbow colored! so here is my tag

If you like this tag, and would like to know a little about how I made this.. just read below!!

I started with some clear embossing powder with a poka dot stamp on a blank manila tag. I stamped the stamp in the top right corner and the bottom left corner. then I heated it up so that it would stick to the tag.

after that, I added my distress ink colors

I used squeezed lemonade, picked raspberry, salty ocean and spiced marmalade ( distress stain )

I then added some chit-chat words

then I embellished with a metal key and some crinkle ribbon that Inked with the same colors I used on the actual tag, and a stamp. just like that I was done:)!! here's some extra pictures

thank you guys for reading!! I hope you enjoyed this months tag and I cant wait to check out everyone else's tag! enjoy the rest of your month!! ( I cant believe it is almost fall! this year has flown by!!)

12 Tags of 2013- August!

hello everyone! so I'm posting this post really late and I do apologize about that but I hope you enjoy my version of Tim's tag this month!

I do not have a lot of time to explain this tag, but I just layered the colors of inks below and then covered the car and the Eiffel tower with a pierce of cut out paper because I didn't have the masks that Tim used. then I just stamped over the images and embellished with a few things not much though:) heres some pictures below as to how I created this tag:)

thank you guys for reading and be sure to keep reading for more of my projects:) and make sure to have a great day:)

12 Tags of 2013- July!!

hello everyone!! so this months tag is very patriotic! I loved the idea of putting crackle under the distress stain! I think the final effect looked really cool! and the brayer technique was just pure genius and I have already used it on some of my other projects!

so this is my tag and I thought the final effect turned out pretty cool!

the first thing I did was to die cut the old glory die and paint it with rock candy crackle paint

then I used barn door and salty ocean distress stain with a brayer and rolled it on the tag just like Tim did to his tag

then I went around the edges with vintage photo and walnut stain distress ink. this is what it looked like at this stage

then I used the same distress stain over the flag and stars then its all about embellishments and finishing touches and your done! to glue on the stars and the flag I used foam dots.

12 Tags of 2013- June!!

Hello everyone! the year is already almost halfway gone! I cant believe how fast 2013 is flying by! and this months tag of the month is up and that means I've been crafting! Here's what I came up with this tag! I know mine doesn't look exactly like Tim's, but it goes more with my personality and the things that I like:)

I did not take a lot of pictures of the making of this but I can show you a few:)

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and a stamped image of the dragonfly blueprint stamp

Then I used Tim's techniques to color the dragonfly in.. except instead of using a water-brush, I used a wet paintbrush because I don't have a water-brush.

Then, I created my Tag background using distress stain colors in, broken china, peeled paint, and spiced marmalade. and a distress ink color in picked raspberry. and I went around the edges in Peacock feathers! then I just used a word stamp to add words to the background.

then I just embellished! here's some extra pictures of the finished result!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this months tag from me! if you liked it leave a comment because I love to hear from you guys!

Envelope Mini-Book

Hello everyone! today I'm going to teach you how to make a mini book out of just 4 envelopes:)
I made this mini book for my mom for mothers day but you could create one for a "just- cause occasion."

The first thing you do is you score the envelopes. I did 5 1/2 inches over. do this to every envelope.

the next step is to glue the envelopes together. i used liquid cement for this job and it did a very good job holding together.

You want to glue the smaller sides together for the first one, then when you add the next page you will glue the two bigger sides together, so when you close the envelopes, it turns into a mini-book.

because this is a envelope, there's going to to be a lot of pockets to add tags and stuff. i just added scrapbooking paper and glued the little flap to one side, but making sure theres still room to make it a pocket.

here's the other pages I did at this point

its a short mini book, buts its all the room I needed. I chose to have mine flipping up and down but you could always have flip left to right. I normally don't scrapbook with pictures, I more of a mixed media artist, but when given pictures I can cook up a pretty good scrapbook:)

from this point on all you need is to add your pictures and embellishments. I but pictures of me and my mom when I was a kid. when I gave her this book she cried. ha-ha parents.

I put tags in the little pockets that matched the color theme of the particular page they went on

Just little embellishments here and there really make anything you create

I used my Cricut to cut out little letters a glue them on in a crooked pattern

Flowers give Character to everything ha-ha

So I hope if your stuck in a artistic rut this helped you with some kind of inspiration to get back up on your crafting feet and start creating again!

If someone you know if getting ready to have a Baby, and you need a good gift, check out my other blog, I have a new post on how to make a baby diaper cake! ( shown below )
